For as long as I can remember, I have been a helper. I have always been drawn to helping and supporting those around me who are in need. I started out my professional journey as a helper by obtaining an Honors Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a certificate in Communication Disorder Assisting where I spent six years working with and supporting children who have behavioural, developmental and speech needs. I went back to school to earn my Master’s in Counselling Psychology so that I could not only support at the individual level but at the family and couples level as well.
From an evidenced based cognitive behavioral approach that integrates both emotion focused therapy and narrative therapy, I work to support individuals, couples and families with an individualized and collaborative approach to overcoming struggles with anger management, grief/loss, eating disorders, relationship issues, low self-esteem as well as emotional distress such as anxiety and depression
When not working or studying, you will find me outdoors, running, playing baseball, hockey or skiing with my family. It is my children and my husband who inspire and motivate me each day to stay true to my values, beliefs and to continue my journey toward self-awareness.

Life can get difficult. We can find ourselves holding the weight of thoughts and feelings, neglecting our boundaries, or not being able to communicate our needs. But we all have one thing in common, we hold the power to begin the conversation, to sit in the uncomfortable, to foster the opportunity for growth.
Throughout my life I’ve always been drawn to supporting others in need. Naturally, my educational pursuits reflected this purpose, as I began my professional career working with children and individuals with diverse developmental needs. This continued interest for understanding human development was persued by obtaining a Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, as well as a Master’s in Counselling Psychology.
I strive to support individuals through a collaborative approach with the goal of achieving self compassion, and the development of strategies for recognizing and changing maladaptive patterns. This Person-Centered framework integrates solution focused and narrative therapies with the goal of supporting clients in gaining a better self-awareness in effort to overcome struggles with; relationship issues, self-esteem, grief/loss, stress, behavioural issues, as well as emotional distress such as anxiety or depression.
I look forward to embarking with you on this journey.

As a developing counselor, my passion lies in helping individuals overcome challenges and discover their inner strengths. Early encounters and later work with domestic violence and gender-based issues have propelled me toward gaining my Master’s in Counselling Psychology and have deeply shaped my counseling values. With my experience, I am committed to being your ally as you navigate the path to self-improvement, empowerment, independence, and self-identity.
At the core of my philosophy is a collaborative partnership that cultivates positive change and ongoing growth. A collaborative, judgement-free approach, characterized by empathy, trust, and a belief in your innate potential, involves identifying goals, exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and creating strategies for lasting transformation. Together, we will address conflicts, nurture learning, and promote authentic living. You will be encouraged and supported in exercising personal power, becoming an expert in your needs, externalizing oppressive experiences, and building positive connections. Positive changes are tailored to both your internal and external needs, focusing on your strengths and overcoming obstacles.
My integrated approach to counselling weaves together evidence-based models of cognitive-behavioural therapies with foundational multicultural-feminist principles to address key factors that drive change and foster positive therapeutic outcomes. Drawing from the values of multicultural-feminist theory, I cultivate rapport by embodying self-disclosure, empathy, empowerment, and support. I address a spectrum of concerns spanning relationship challenges, self-esteem, complex emotional distress (e.g. anger, anxiety, or depression), body and eating disorders, and gender-based issues. My guidance is direct, honest, and creative in fostering client-initiated change during sessions, while expecting natural growth, awareness, and self-acceptance over time. Welcome to a transformative journey where empowerment, self-improvement, and positive change await. Let’s embark on this path together!
